Into the Woods: A Lunar Campaign

This is a two-person Lunar Exalted story I'm running for Bret and myself. It started fairly spontaneously over this winter break, though the seeds were probably planted earlier in the year when we talked about running/playing a small long-distance Exalted game.

The two initial player characters are:

Oak-bending Eye, a No Moon witch woman who has, through her lore, netted the worship of her rather large village of semi-barbarians. Oak-bending Eye is very interested in genetics, breeding, and evolution. Through her knowledge of sorcerous lore, she intends to cross-breed all manner of species in search of ideal hybrids. She was Exalted by Luna after surviving an extremely difficult labor in which she corrected her own beastman child's breach birth, during a drought and exile from her own village.

The Lean Wolf, a Full Moon mercenary/bandit leader née bastard child of a Dragon-blooded house. <needs work>He was raised with some education, and entered the military in the hopes of earning some respect from his family. He never exalted as a Terrestrial, but he did manage to rise a bit through the ranks and make some loyal friends. (It's quite possible I will alter this part a bit to say that he was sold off to the Vermillion Legion, and through persistent struggle, did well there even faced with competition from the Terrestrial Exalted.)</needs work> After a time, he was sent to take charge of an outpost in the east/southeast. He had grown increasingly fed up with the politicking of the Terrestrials and the treatment those who were unExalted and/or out of the wealth/power loop received. Heart of Darkness-style, he went native. He abandoned his post, and, followed by his loyal troops, began a campaign of banditry against the Realm. His struggle for survival ultimately caught the eye of Luna. He was exalted, returned to his troops, led them further, was successfully rescued and trained, and now he and his followers roam the southeastern jungles and plains seeking a staging area from which they can plot attacks against the Realm.

Guile's Island

Welcome to Guile's Island! This is a site that Bret Hutchinson and David Clark have set up in order to test a method of gaming (roleplaying games) long-distance. To begin with, it will host only one game, the two-person Lunar Exalted story that David is running for the two of them. With time, however, perhaps more games will appear on the site, and more people will get to participate. (Participation is by invitation only, and after this post, comments will be allowed only for those who are playing in one of the site's games, if the site administrators can figure out how to do that. However, feel free to read the posts and comments even if you aren't involved in a game.)

Posts on the site will mostly consist of game plot/character summaries and in-game description/narration by the storyteller. Characters will post responses to actions in the Comments section of each appropriate post. Dice-rolling will take place in the privacy of each player's home, and will run on an honors system, unless site administrators find another way to do things.

Also, "Guile," though spelled like the word "guile" (pron. gile), is pronounced "goo-lee." Guile is the legendary fremlin (friendly gremlin) illusionist-thief that Bret played in a game ran by David many years ago. Guile ultimately achieved tremendous power and stature and saved the world quite a few times. (Most of those times, he saved the world after initially damning it in the first place. We think the multiverse is pretty much intact now, though.) Guile retired quite happily to his magical island some time ago, but it is reported that he still makes occasional forays into wider realms to guide (read: harass and hornswoggle) younger adventurers on their quests.
